Quotations: 2015

I realise that my blog has had a lack of frequent posts for the past 4-6 months, but the past year has been both incredibly busy and stressful. I have full intentions of restarting my blog very soon.

In the meantime; I will start up this year as I have always started a new year here on my blog.

Continuing the quotations of the year posts, here is the selection for 2015.

Favourite quotations of the past year (including some that I have not been able or bothered to ‘tweet‘) in a single blog post purely for fun.

As usual, no names will be mentioned (with the exception of my own) and people will be referred to in an anonymous fashion or title. Of course, you will all know who you are from being present when I had said the quote in question. Try also to bear in mind that almost all of these quotes have been said in the heat of the moment and are not meant to offend any readers of my blog.

Enjoy.

Aemilia Hawk: “I’m fluffy!”
Friend 1: “So are Polar Bears!”
Friend 2: “Fluffy like a snake.”

Aemilia Hawk: “I am 99% angel. That last 1% just screws me over every time.”
Friend: “is that 99% angel the one that ‘sauntered vaguely downwards’?”
Aemilia Hawk: “Stauntered? Sauntered?!? It was a proud ‘trip’ I’ll have you know!”

Friend: “There is something worrying about a smiling demon.”
Aemilia Hawk: “Would this be a good ‘Muahahaha’ moment?”

Aemilia Hawk: ” I was trying desperately to remain polite by not vomiting on the pink floor. I succeeded. Despite wanting the colour change so badly.”

Aemilia Hawk: “I still wonder at how long it took them back in the 1930’s to figure out that shoving a violet wand in your eye is really not very good for it. At least the eyeball attachment has the perfect shape for nipples and has the added bonus of not causing blindness when used on them. At least, not in the receiver.”

Aemilia Hawk: ” I am so innocent that I make that fruit juice smoothie stuff look fattening! If I were any more innocent, I would be doing a ‘Puss in boots from Shrek’ impression!”
Friend 1: “You are hiding the fangs and everything! Valiant effort!”
Friend 2: “Asking you to spell ‘innocent’ would go something along the lines of ‘P-U-R-E-E-V-I-L’.”

Aemilia Hawk: “I don’t always wear my top hat. But when I do, I make it look nonchalantly awesome regardless of where I am or what I am doing.”

Friend: “Fangs for the mammaries!”
Aemilia Hawk: “Ohh, the punnery!”

Aemilia Hawk: “They said ‘Relinquish your weapons!’. Of course, none of the guns could shoot but they quickly learned that wooden flintlock replicas are superior to painted plastic toys in the ability to club.”

Aemilia Hawk: “When life gives you lemons, just shut up and eat the damn lemons!”

Aemilia Hawk: “If you have enough passion for something, anything is possible.”

Aemilia Hawk: “The sadistic part of me is currently having an argument with the reasonable part of me. I think my sadistic side is winning.”

Aemilia Hawk: “I will build it! And it shall be named ‘Evil’.”
Aemilia Hawk: “Or ‘Bob’. I haven’t decided yet.”

Aemilia Hawk: “A flogger named ‘Bob’, and so it begins. I built the first head, then ran out of rings…”

Friend: “I believe the Romans had something similar with hooks on the end and called it the ‘scorpion’.”
Aemilia Hawk: “I could never build a flogger with hooks. You hit once with it then they run off with your toy!”

Aemilia Hawk: “Taarsidath-an halsaam!”

Aemilia Hawk: “Angels, Demons, were all from the same basic stock at the end of the day. It’s all just semantics!”

Aemilia Hawk: “Make tea, not war.”

Aemilia Hawk: “You had me at Wasabi.”

Aemilia Hawk: “You have been inspiring me to come up with completely new colourful insults.”

Friend: “You could put ‘Fifty Shades’ to shame.”
Aemilia Hawk: “I have still not seen that movie. I suffered enough when I subjected myself to the books. Self harm is really not my kink!”

Aemilia Hawk: “That ‘freshly cut grass’ smell you love so much is actually a chemical distress signal. And you enjoy it! You sadist!”

The Art of Flogging with Aemilia Hawk – Our Kickstarter is now live!

We have only 30 days! Go to https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/835910848/the-art-of-flogging to see our live Kickstarter page and make a pledge!

About this project

With the release of movies such as “50 Shades of Grey” and “The Secretary”, I have noticed a large number of newcomers to the BDSM scene over the past few years, many of whom are still finding their feet and exploring this marvellous world. The use of a flogger is usually among the first steps after discovering this alternative lifestyle and with “The Art of Flogging” DVD project, our aim is to bring the basics of practice and safety to these newcomers, and to enthusiasts all over the world, while still being able to teach advanced techniques to those who are experienced in the practice of impact play. A complete comprehensive resource for any flogging enthusiast, our DVD will be packed with tutorials and instructional videos. Here are some of the things we plan on including:

  • Beginner instructionals.
  • Practice techniques.
  • Safety tutorials.
  • Warm up techniques.
  • Sensation play with floggers.
  • Rest techniques.
  • Flogger maintenance.
  • Advanced techniques: Carouselling, Ricochet Flogging, 4-point and 6-point Florentine flogging.
  • After-care advice.
  • And much more!

My Background

I am the owner of Kabunza Craftwerks and have been a lifestyle practitioner of BDSM for many years. I have been in the media as a mentor in various BDSM arts and I frequent the majority of the south of England teaching workshops and demonstrations as well as doing performances of these arts. While I practice many forms of BDSM, I am mostly known for my expertise in impact play.

Where will the money go?

With having passionate people working on this project, at £1500 we are looking at the bare minimum of funding. Of course, the more we raise, the better a DVD we will be able to produce. But with that £1500 backing we will be able to pay for:

  • Video recording equipment, lighting etc.
  • Editing and sound.
  • The required software and personnel.
  • Studio space rental.
  • Our first production of DVDs.

Rewards!

We are offering numerous rewards for those who give us their hearty support! From a copy of the DVD when it is complete to a huge set of custom designed BDSM impact toys, we will be working our socks off to bring you some amazing goodies. Plus, all of our rewards will include free postage worldwide! One of the special things which we are releasing for this Kickstarter is the limited editionKabunza Minipoi “Black Hawk” replica flogger. These floggers will not be available to purchase and will be made purely for those people who have selected to donate £50 or more.

Why Kickstarter?

People have been asking me to make tutorial videos for quite some time. I decided that if I were to do something along these lines, then I should approach doing it as I would approach building a set of Kabunza floggers; I should aim for making something ‘exceptional’, and making decent tutorials is no cheap endeavour. They require time, space and professionals, which in the end not only greatly increases the quality of the finished product but also requires a significant chunk of money. A friend of mine suggested Kickstarter as a means to achieve this goal and after some research and thought on the matter, here we are!

How can you help?

The first answer is: make a pledge! We urge you to get involved. Even a small pledge helps to get us that much closer to our goal! Secondly, let everyone know about our Kickstarter project and the DVD! In order to achieve our goal we really need to reach out into our communities and spheres of influence to get the word out there. You can post on Fetlife, Twitter, Facebook, and even email this Kickstarter link to those you think would like to know about the project. Every person you tell about “The Art of Flogging” is a huge help.

Thank you for your support!

Kicking!

Just to bring everyone up to date on “The art of Flogging” DVD Kickstarter project:

The company chosen to work with us on filming the project is: The Kink Domane.
They will be able to supply the equipment, manpower, filming, editing and sound for the DVD.
We have already finished the promotional video for the project and we are hoping to have it live within a week.
We will have only 30 days to reach our target goal and all information about what we hope to include will be posted as soon as the project goes live. I will be supplying a list of the things which the project funds will need to be spent on in order to complete the project, so everyone will know where the money is going. Obviously the more funding we make, the more we will be able to do and the better we will be able to do it.

All advertising and backing of this project will be greatly appreciated and there will be some nice rewards given away to people who lend monetary support to the project.
There will also be options for kink orientated businesses to be plugged in the DVD by sponsoring the project.

I have started a group on Fetlife to spread the word and keep people who do not follow my blog up to date. You can join this group at:

This should end up being something pretty awesome.

A Velvet Thought – Mistresses Musings: To kick or not to kick

I get asked, almost on a daily basis, to make some official tutorial videos on flogging and similar. While many admit the snippits of video that have managed to be taken at a couple of my workshops have been helpful, people have been screaming for more and in more detail.

In truth, the amount of knowledge I have rattling around in my brain on it all would be enough to fill a DVD.

And so it has been suggested that I might try doing just that. The main problem being, well, everything.

Video recording equipment, lighting, any other equipment, software or personnel that may be required, editing. Everything costs money, experience and time. Even something as small as a youtube video.

A friend of mine suggested that I should start a Kickstarter project to try and get funding for creating a DVD.

I would really like to know people’s opinion and if anyone would add to the backing of such a project.

Please leave your comments below and let me know your thoughts.

Mine.

The softest of black suedes. A small sliver of a rare South African skin that I had been saving for something special. It was laid out flat next to the vibrant purple of a Spanish relaxed grain leather. The contrast was beautiful. The colours complimented each other and as I sat down to study the striations and view the detailing of the leathers further, she wrapped her arms around my shoulders and hugged me from behind. Nothing was said, she simply wanted to see.

It needed to be perfect. It needed to be special. She had picked the leathers, her favourite colours, and I was about to build it for her with my bare hands while she watched.

There is nothing quite like the smell of freshly cut leather. My blade sliced through her choices effortlessly as I cut the strips required. A soft but strong backing of the blackest night followed by the warm and vibrant colours that would accentuate and bring life to that darkness. I could not help feeling slightly amused at our dynamics similarities.

Metals next. The strongest of steel. Cold and hard. An armour of chain for its front and a little love willed into every ring as they were forcefully weaved together. As the skies darkened and turned to night, I flicked my workbench lamp on. The dim light glistened off the metal as I held it aloft to look closely at the weaved florets and I could feel her smile as she continued to watch it take shape in my hands.

The next step was aesthetics. Those little touches of beautification. Not because it needed such things, but because they are desired. The reflected shine from the steel bezel blazed into my eyes as I placed it in position, enhancing its every detail. The victorianesque patterns which oddly reminded me of rope whenever I looked at them closely were glistening in the light and I began to reminisce of the previous evenings play in the very spot where we were now. I was tempted to repeat the process. Her scent was constant and delicious, I could feel her soft breath on my neck and it would have been so easy to simply throw down my tools and grab her for another ropey roll on the floor, but this was important, so as I brought the hammer down roughly atop the clear crystal rivet center of the final touches, I shook the desire to the side and promised myself the pleasure at a later date.

It was late by the time I had finished. All was quiet as I stood in front of her with the finished creation and held it in the light where she could see it clearly.

“Are you sure?” I asked as I gave her a meaningful look.

Her meek grin was incredibly cute as she nodded back at me.

The last ingredient was already in place as I slipped the leather and steel collar around her.

Trust.

Unequivocal. Clear and pure. Trust.

Her smile widened as the click of the padlock shattered the silence and as I pulled her towards me by the belt, I gave her left nipple a playful pinch followed by a toothy grin.

“Mine” I growled through the smile as I wrapped her in an embrace.

Event review: Kinkfest UK 2014

Earlier this year, I was asked to take part and teach workshops at the UK’s largest and newest BDSM educational conference and event, Kinkfest UK. To say it was an honour to have been able to take part is an understatement and over the course of its 2 day debut, it quickly became my favorite event of 2014 and one of my favourite BDSM events of this past decade.

Concentrating more on the safety and knowledge aspects of BDSM during the day by hosting a large and very diverse assortment of workshops and classes, while during the evenings having a large environment to practice in and have fun with new-found skills, as well as having live performances of fire play and Japanese rope bondage, Kinkfest UK has it all. In fact, I think the only thing it lacked was a market.

Held in the same venue as they hold the Midland peer rope evenings at the Xtasia club in Birmingham, I ran several flogging workshops over the course of the event and I also managed to get in some very fun rope (photos below). They have expressed wishes to continue Kinkfest UK as a yearly event and I for one really hope they do. This event was simply awesome and given the chance, I would gleefully attend again.

A Velvet Thought – Mistresses Musings: Update 09/06/14

My blog has been going through a little neglect as of late due to life being incredibly busy.

Kabunza has moved into its own offices and we are trying to get everything up and running while also trying to keep the business stocked with lots of groovy creations (a Kabunza bullwhip being one of the things currently being tested), I have been going through some serious Japanese rope bondage tuition, a lot of events (many of which I am doing workshops or demonstrations at. See my Events page for listed ones near you), discussions and meetings about possible future photoshoots and talking at BDSM conferences, and this is to name but a few of the things on my list.

But, rest assured, I will be writing blog posts about everything I can as soon as I get some free time to do so!

In the meantime; watch this space, keep safe and stay kinky 😉

Product review: Uberkinky Monarch Noir Nipple Clamps

In my time, I have tried many types of nipple clamps as an addition to various forms of play. But my favorite style of clamps to use have always been the Japanese Clover Clamps.

And now I have a black pair!

The Uberkinky Monarch Noir Nipple clamps are almost identical to the standard Japanese clover clamps, but the fact that they are a very suave and gothic looking black with a lovely little black chain attaching the pair together makes them far more pretty to use. Which is a big bonus in my book.

The tips of the clamps are rubber coated with 5 little nodules to assure a decent grip and unlike some clamps that I have seen on the market, these are not adjustable. They essentially bite down as hard as they can from the first moment you use them and the more you flick them or move them around, the more settled and tighter the clamps become.

One thing that I feel a need to point out is that part of the pain and sensitivity that any nipple clamps cause comes from the restriction of the blood flow to the nipples. When they are removed the pain can end up being worse than when they were applied as the blood flows back into the nerves around the previously clamped area and they begin to rage at being squished and deprived of body fluid for so long. It is never a good thing to leave them on for too long.

As an added bonus, If you want some reliable hints and tips on how to use nipple clamps effectively, Uberkinky supply a helpful little guide: http://www.uberkinky.co.uk/essential-guides/nipple-clamps-guides/how-to-use-nipple-clamps.html

When used correctly, nipple clamps can be an exciting and attractive addition to many forms of BDSM play. I highly recommend that everyone has a pair added to their arsenal of toys.
