Product review: Uberkinky Fetish Fantasy Designer Paddle

If it has not been apparent from my gallery or previous blog posts; One of my favorite BDSM activities is impact play. Particularly floggers.

However, impact play can take many forms; Whips, floggers, canes and paddles to name the most common.

Fetish Fantasy Designer Paddle:

This month, the wonderful people at Uberkinky have sent me one of their Fetish Fantasy Designer Paddles to test run and review.

Personally, I tend to use paddles as warm-up tools before moving on to heavier impact play like whips or canes, or I will use them as an accent to a session of spanking to save my hand (and claws) from prolonged impact play. I consider the humble paddle to be a very handy addition and ‘must-have’ to any arsenal of BDSM toys.

The Uberkinky Fetish Fantasy Designer Paddle is probably one of the lightest paddles I have ever used. They have opted for a handle which has been created completely out of hard leather and has no wooden or metal core; the reason for its lightness and slightly ‘whippy’ effect when using it heavily.

It’s rounded edges are an added bonus for those who prefer to simply heat the center of each rear-end cheek and while it sometimes feels a little flimsy when in use, it definitely makes an accurate and stingy impact.

The hard leather is of a smooth surface, making it easy to wipe clean and sterilize and a leather cord is supplied for when it is simply needed to hang on a wall or belt for show, as a constant reminder of the last play, or as a visual deterrent for any menials who tend to be a little bratty.

But there is one thing I rate incredibly highly on this item, more than anything else, and that is the sound: this paddle made a wonderful slap which echoed throughout my dungeon.

I have a feeling that I will be using this little toy quite often.

50 Vs 6.

I must confess, I cannot help but laugh at menials who tell me that they can take a punishment of 50+ strokes from a cane. I seem to get a lot of messages and emails containing this boast or one of similar proportions.

They have obviously never walked through my dungeon doors.

Why do in 50 what you can do in 6? (12 for those who like a little warm up thrashing).
In 6 strokes, should I wish, I can simply give a red lined but short lived reminder of whatever the menial is being punished for.
However, in 6 strokes, should I wish, I can draw blood, cause intense pain and leave scars that would last.
It is simply down to the quality of the tool, how it is used and how accurate the Dominant is (hitting the same spot continuously can be incredibly fun, albeit damaging).

Before I continue, I feel obligated to point out that some menials enjoy caning. In cases such as this, 50 gentle strokes is actually just play and not a punishment (or even intended as a punishment) at all. A play caning differs incredibly from a punishment caning.

But if any menial made a boast of being able to take 50 strokes as an actual punishment, I would instantly come up with 3 theories:
1. I would question the competence of the Mistress/Master who gave them the 50 punishment strokes. Because clearly they have no clue as to what they are doing (either that or they have the arm strength of a dormouse with muscular dystrophy).
2. I would question the honesty of the menial.
3. The menial making the boast is lacking any form of flesh on his/her backside.

If a Mistress asks: “How many strokes of the cane do you think you can take?”
The correct answer is: “As many as you think I should/can receive, Mistress”

Boasting is not attractive in a menial and, in most cases, will result in nothing more than the Domme/Dom testing the boast (which can have nasty results).
Honesty is mandatory.
Leave the ego to those of a higher station.

Just to finish this post: a photo of how a punishment caning should look like.
I know the photo is grainy as it was taken on my iPhone as an afterthought and in low light.
6 light, warm up strokes and 6 medium punishment strokes. As you can see, progressively heavier as you go down the backside. This was a gentle-mediocre punishment session, the worst hit being of the average strength that I use in a standard punishment.
